Mertensia virginica, also known as virginia bluebells is a perennial wildflower native to Michigan.
Plant reaches 2 feet tall and flowers from April to May with a blue blossom.
It prefers partial sun to full shade, medium to wet soil and will grow in clay, loam or sand.
