Description
Amorpha fruticosa, also known as false indigo bush is a perennial wildflower. Though not native to Michigan it is native to a few states to the South and West. We like to include it as it is popular with gardeners and pollinators alike.
Plant reaches 12 feet tall and flowers from June to August with a purple blossom.
It prefers full sun to partial shade, medium to dry soil and will grow in muck, clay, loam or sand.
